Spiaggia del Principe
Physical
A beach in the Costa Smeralda accessible only on foot after a walk through granite boulders and macchia. The sand is white and the water deep green and clear. The landscape is entirely natural — no buildings, no structures.
Social
Despite being within the exclusive Costa Smeralda territory, the beach attracts a visitor willing to walk rather than simply arrive. The absence of facilities makes it less commercial and more physically engaged. People swim, snorkel, and spread out over a large area.
Context
Said to have been a favourite of Aga Khan III, who used it privately. The name Spiaggia del Principe (Prince's Beach) reflects this association. The walk required to reach it has always acted as a selection mechanism.
Environment
Undeveloped natural coastline with no built infrastructure.
