A small sand and gravel beach in Arona on the southern tip of Lake Maggiore. The town is just behind the beach, and the Rocca di Arona sits on a hill above. The lake view is framed by hills.

Local residents and day visitors from the Milan metropolitan area, which is about an hour away. Arona is a gateway to the lake from the south. The beach serves a mixed function — leisure for locals and a quick escape for city dwellers.
Context
Arona has been a strategic point on Lake Maggiore since medieval times. The colossal statue of Saint Carlo Borromeo (1697) stands above the town. The lake became accessible to Milan with the railway in the 19th century, transforming it into a popular excursion destination.
