Who this is
Flesh Sand is an independent photography archive run by Raffaele Ferrari, based in Tuscany, Italy. This page explains what information the site collects when you visit or subscribe, and how it's used.
What we collect
If you sign up through the "Stay Connected" form, we collect your email address, for the sole purpose of sending updates about new locations, exhibitions, and the project's progress. Nothing else is asked of you, and your email is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for their own marketing.
Browsing the site itself does not require you to hand over any personal information. We don't run analytics or advertising trackers.
Local storage, not cookies
The site uses your browser's local storage — not tracking cookies — to remember two small things:
- that you've already seen the subscription prompt, so it doesn't interrupt you again
- that you've closed the "Stay Connected" banner, so it stays closed
This information stays on your device. It isn't sent to us, it isn't used to track you across other sites, and it contains no personal data — only a small flag saying "seen" or "not seen."
Newsletter
Email sign-ups are processed through Beehiiv, our newsletter provider. When that integration is live, your email address will be stored on Beehiiv's platform under their own privacy and security practices. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email we send.
